CULINARY CAPE
A subject close to my heart. Food - the essence of life, or is it just what we do to kill time? Whatever your taste, from gourmet meals to gastronomic overindulgence, from franchised take-away to the best restaurants in the country. We have it all. Some food critic once wrote: "Fabulous dining -- frequently accompanied by equally stellar regional wines -- is an integral part of the Cape experience, whether in Cape Town proper or anywhere along this charmed region with its spectacular scenery. Cape Town -- culinary anchor of all South Africa -- yields an extensive line-up of restaurants unrivaled anywhere else in the country." Whether he was right or wrong depend to a large degree on your own taste in food, but there seem to be general consensus when one look at the 'Top 10' restaurant list by the "Eat-Out" magazine.
