CAPE WINES

In South Africa, more than 100,000 hectares is under vines, from which we produce more than 730milion liters of wine.

From Villa10, you have the option to easily wind your way through at least 8 (eight) different established wine routes. You may alternatively limit your exploration to the lesser known cellars which most likely produce wines as good as (or maybe better than) the well known producers - or you may stick to the brands you know and enjoy.

Durbanville Wine Valley
The Durbanville Wine Valley consists of 9 wineries, each offering the finest in wines, a magnificent range of intense, yet elegant wines, as different from each other as the slopes that create them and the individual personalities who craft them.

Durbanville Boutique Wine Makers
We are extremely proud to present the thirteen producers who got their hands (and in some cases even feet!) dirty to create some really special wines that showcase originality, love and careful attention. While our total production is far less than the smallest of the established Durbanville wine producers, we believe that our access to some of the best grapes allow us to make authentic wine, which represent the unique "terroir" of Durbanville.

Stellenbosch Wine Route
Stellenbosch Wine Routes represent 18% of all the vines planted in South Africa and is the largest of all the South African wine routes in terms of number of members - in excess of 140, divided into 5 sub-routes.

Paarl Vintners
From the large international wine companies to the smallest 'garagiste' wine makers the aim of the 40 members of the Paarl Vintners wine route is to produce quality wines with a sense of place to give pleasure to the lovers of good living.

Wellington Wine Route
We cordially invite you to taste the Boland hospitality at our wineries where quality of life is restored in one visit! Therefore, after a visit to our Wine Route you will admit, like so many others, that you have been truly conquered.

Swartland Wine Route
With its rolling hills and sweeping vistas of wheat fields and vineyards, the vastness of the Swartland provides visitors with the opportunity to relax and absorb the essence of this region. The route currently has a total of 20 members, including co-operatives, private cellars, garagistes and wine merchants.

Franschhoek
Franschhoek wine estates and wine farms are not only situated in an incredibly beautiful valley they also produce some of the world's finest wines. Located in a small valley they are easy to visit and enjoy. The wines made by the Vignerons de Franschhoek can be tasted paired with wonderful food at Franschhoek´s restaurants. With 42 active wineries Franschhoek boasts many of the most innovative and progressive producers in SA among its wine farms.

Breedekloof Wine Route
Award winning wines and a natural playground consisting of crystal clear streams and majestic mountains await you in the Breedekloof. Breedekloof includes 22 wineries in the Rawsonville, Slanghoek, Goudini and Breede River areas which range from small boutique cellars to estates and large co-operative wineries.

Other Wine Routes
There are more wine routes in the Cape, and can also be reached from Villa10 . They are however a little more than just a 30minute drive away. Each one is still well worth a visit:
- Constantia Wine Route
- Darling Wine Route
- Worcester Wine Route
- Robertson Wine Route
- Klein Karoo Wine Route
